Preview: Denmark vs. Milton Eagles

Denmark will head out on the road to challenge the Milton Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Denmark has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Milton will arrive with three straight wins.

Last Friday, Denmark ended up a good deal behind Lambert and lost 49-35.

The losing side was boosted by Hannah Lopez, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Emma Hempker, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.

In what's become a running theme this season, Milton gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Forsyth Central 62-28 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Milton has posted since December 5, 2023.

Nya Smith continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten steals. Smith is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Londyn Walker, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

Denmark has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Milton, their win bumped their record up to 15-2.

Tuesday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Denmark have been dynamite from deep this season, having only nailed 32.4% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Milton struggles in that department as they've nailed 43.9% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Denmark didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Milton in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 51-47 victory. Will Denmark repeat their success, or does Milton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
