Baseball Recap: Monett Takes a Loss

Monett managed to slip by Lamar the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cubs lost 14-2 to the Tigers on Tuesday. The Cubs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Aidan Clapper made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Monett is 2-1 when Clapper posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-10 otherwise.

Monett's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Lamar, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Monett is taking a road trip to take on Clever at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lamar, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Butler at 4:30 p.m.
