Basketball Recap: Franklin Heights Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Franklin Heights came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 47-43 W over the Bexley Lions. While the Falcons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Franklin Heights had a senior duo take command as Kent Hairston went 9 of 16 en route to 22 points and Noah Kershaw went 6 for 11 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds. Hairston's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Franklin Heights pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Bexley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin Heights will welcome Buckeye Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bexley and Bloom-Carroll will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bexley is facing Bloom-Carroll at the right time seeing as Bloom-Carroll is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
