Preview: Sullivan South vs. Gate City
Gate City are packing up and hiking across state lines for their match on Friday. They take on Sullivan South at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Gate City, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Gate City might have drawn first blood against Abingdon last Friday, but it was Abingdon who got the last laugh. Gate City suffered a grim 13-45 defeat to Abingdon. Gate City were down by 13-38 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, Sullivan South were able to grind out a solid victory over Grainger, winning 34-26.
Sullivan South's win lifted them to 2-1 while Gate City's defeat dropped them down to 0-2. We'll find out if Sullivan South can add another positive mark to their record or if Gate City can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Sullivan South's step.
