Basketball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short at Home Against Chamberlain

Mitchell unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 53-52 to the Chamberlain Storm. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2017.

Mitchell lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Zack Harrington, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 16 boards. John Golden was another key player, putting up 14 points and seven rebounds.

Chamberlain had a senior duo take command as Dario Borden posted 13 points and Devonte Spears scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Wormack, who earned eight points.

Mitchell has already played their next matchup (against Land O' Lakes), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Chamberlain, they have also already played their next game, a 49-47 loss against Wharton on the 18th.
