Baseball Recap: Lyons Comes Up Short

Lyons and Denver Christian squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Lyons had to settle for second. They lost 11-2 to the Thunder. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Thunder recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Jake LaCrosse put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Lyons' defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Denver Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Lyons nor Denver Christian have any future games scheduled.
