Basketball Recap: Bishop's Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bishop proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 30) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. It was close, but they capped 2024 with a 57-55 win over the Madison Warhawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since January 20th.

Madison's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Gleason, who went 6 of 14 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Runnar(Rj) Miller, who posted eight points along with 14 rebounds and five assists.

The win was the third in a row for Bishop's, bringing their record for this year to 9-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Bishop's won't have much time to rest: their next game is against San Diego at 8:25 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Bishop's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches. As for Madison, they will challenge Olympian at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Madison is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.5 points per game this season.
