Basketball Recap: Garfield Heights Triumphs

Garfield Heights won the last time they faced North and things went their way on Monday too. The Garfield Heights Bulldogs snuck past the North Vikings with a 61-57 victory.

Ce'Airah Underwood and Armonie Lewis certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Underwood dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds, while Lewis dropped a double-double on 18 points and 20 boards. That was a full 50.9% of North's points, marking the 11th time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Serenity Noel was another key player, putting up six points and 12 boards.

Garfield Heights has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for North, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-18.

Garfield Heights will take on Warrensville Heights at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Warrensville Heights is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.1 points per game this season. North has already played their next contest (against Buchtel), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
