Football Recap: Midd-West Comes Up Short

Midd-West extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They were outmatched by the Lewisburg Green Dragons and fell 35-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 41-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Keaton Kreider threw for 39 yards on six of 15 attempts. Konnor Kullman was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards. On the ground, Noah Kratzer rushed for 53 yards.

As for Lewisburg, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their seven-point performance the game before.

A big part of Lewisburg's win came down to the chemistry between Xavier Carter and his top target Jaylen Walker. Carter threw for 197 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes while Walker picked up 149 receiving yards and three scores. Carter's passing game has become a key predictor of Lewisburg's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-4 otherwise.

Midd-West has already played their next matchup, a 47-0 defeat against Milton on the 10th. As for Lewisburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 38-0 loss against Shamokin Area on the 10th.
