It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lemon Bay had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Seminole Warhawks by a score of 3-1. The win was familiar territory for the Manta Rays who have now won six games in a row.
Lemon Bay was actually outscored in aggregate across those four sets (86-81), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-18, 6-25, 25-21.
Mackenzie Long paced Lemon Bay's offense, picking up ten kills. Long got some help from
Evelyn Swidrak and her 14 assists.
Kaydence Torres controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Lemon Bay now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Seminole, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9.
After both having extra time off, Lemon Bay and Bishop Moore will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Moore will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Lemon Bay surely won't give up without a fight. Seminole does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
