Baseball Game Preview: St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats vs. Blacksher Bulldogs

For the second straight game, St. Luke's Episcopal will face off against Blacksher. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. St. Luke's Episcopal is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between St. Luke's Episcopal and Blacksher, and Blacksher kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats came up short against the Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 10-3.

For Blacksher's part, Brayden Bailey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Bailey was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Brody Watson and Lagan Rolin did most of the damage at the plate: Watson scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Rolin scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Major Thomas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Blacksher has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for St. Luke's Episcopal, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.
