            An exciting North v. South battle is about to be fought. The Elkhorn South Storm will challenge the Millard North Mustangs at 1:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Both come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Elkhorn South is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past Papillion-LaVista South  7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Storm have posted  since April 25th.
Elkhorn South got a great performance from  Cal Cooper as he  struck out six batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits.

Those  two  hits gave  Gideon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Markus Gorup, who  went 2-for-3 with one  run.
 Meanwhile, Millard North faced Elkhorn South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Mustangs walked away with  a   4-0  victory over the Storm. The  win was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on eight straight.
 Elkhorn South is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Millard North, their win bumped their record up to 22-11.
