Basketball Recap: Olivia Wise Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Seven Oaks Classical

After losing to Seven Oaks Classical the last time they met, Columbus Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Crusaders came out on top against the Firehawks by a score of 50-40 on Saturday.

Columbus Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Wise out in front who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 boards. What's more, Wise racked up seven assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Emma Murray, who went 7-for-14 on her way to 16 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Columbus Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Columbus Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points over those games. As for Seven Oaks Classical, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Columbus Christian will welcome Indiana School for the Deaf at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Seven Oaks Classical, they will venture away from home to square off against Washington Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Firehawks are facing the Cardinals at the right time seeing as the Cardinals are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
