Softball Recap: Haddam-Killingworth Has No Trouble Against Morgan

Haddam-Killingworth got themselves on the board against Morgan on Monday, but Morgan never followed suit. They blew past the Huskies 20-0. Considering the Cougars have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Emma Giaccone was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Olivia LaTorre was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kacey Coon, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI and two runs.

Haddam-Killingworth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .660. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Haddam-Killingworth pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Morgan, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.
