Basketball Game Preview: Kit Carson Wildcats vs. Stratton Eagles

Kit Carson is 0-4 against Stratton since January of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home court against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Stratton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Kit Carson, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Kit Carson needed a bit of extra time to put away Springfield. They managed a 67-63 win over the Longhorns.

Kit Carson can attribute much of their success to Avery Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 16 boards, and Allyssa Gekeler, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Johnson continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tressie Golding, who posted seven points and seven boards.

Kit Carson was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

Meanwhile, Stratton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 55-49 to Fleming.

Stratton's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Kit Carson, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-5.
