Basketball Game Preview: Cushing Bearkats vs. Mt. Enterprise Wildcats

Cushing and Mt. Enterprise are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Cushing Bearkats will host the Mt. Enterprise Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Cushing ended up a good deal behind Alto and lost 80-62. The Bearkats haven't had much luck with the Yellowjackets recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, Mt. Enterprise was able to grind out a solid victory over New Summerfield on Friday, taking the game 57-49.

Cushing better keep an eye on Tanner Wilburn. He was instrumental in Mt. Enterprise's win, going 9 of 13 on his way to 20 points along with seven boards and five steals. Those 20 points gave Wilburn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaegan Ash, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Mt. Enterprise smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Mt. Enterprise's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-14. As for Cushing, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.
