Basketball Recap: Walsh Comes Up Short

Walsh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 42-28 to the Kim/Branson Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-31 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Walsh lost, don't look at Averi Kunselman. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. With that strong performance, Kunselman is now averaging an impressive 8.2 boards per game.

Even though they lost, Walsh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.

Kim/Branson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Charlee Buhrle, who went 5-for-12 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sorrel Mosimann, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards.

Walsh's record is now 5-14. As for Kim/Branson, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7.
