Football Recap: John Seward and Jhmari Guthrie Pace Payton College Prep Defense

Payton College Prep lost to Westinghouse back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Grizzlies walked away with a 20-9 victory over the Warriors.

Thomas Fitchett was the offensive standout of the matchup as he threw for 163 yards and a pair of TDs.

Payton College Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of John Seward and Jhmari Guthrie. Another thorn in Westinghouse's side was Lucas Schaffrath, who picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles.

Payton College Prep's record now sits at 7-2. As for Westinghouse, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Payton College Prep will venture away from home to challenge Hersey at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Grizzlies surely won't give up without a fight. Westinghouse does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
