Baseball Recap: Calvary Day School Takes a Loss

Calvary Day School has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.25 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Sunday. They fell just short of the Wyoming Valley West Spartans by a score of 12-11. The loss was the Cougars' first of the season.

Tyler Grande was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Austin Setliff was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Calvary Day School fell to 3-1. As for Wyoming Valley West, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvary Day School will welcome Surry Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Calvary Day School 3.2, Surry Central 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Wyoming Valley West, they will host Carbondale Area at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
