Basketball Recap: Dunbar Comes Up Short

Dunbar's tournament run continued when they took on Greenon on Saturday. The Dunbar Wolverines fell 62-50 to the Greenon Knights.

When it comes to explaining why Dunbar lost, don't look at Donisha Davis. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 18 points and 23 boards. Davis is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 26 games she's played dating back to last season. Sa'Rai Ridley was another key player, putting up five points.

Even though they lost, Dunbar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matchups.

Dunbar's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Greenon, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Dunbar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greenon, they will head out to square off against Oakwood at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
