North Surry triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Sadie Badgett

Recap: North Surry Greyhounds vs. Forbush Falcons

The North Surry Greyhounds entered their tilt with the Forbush Falcons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. North Surry sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 win over Forbush on Friday. For North Surry, this counts as revenge for the 50-38 loss Forbush walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Sadie Badgett continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played. Callie Robertson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Forbush lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Morgan Pinnix, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Pinnix is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mallory Chapman, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Even though they lost, Forbush smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Surry only pulled down six offensive rebounds.

North Surry has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Forbush, their loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Surry will take on West Wilkes at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Forbush, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Surry Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
