Softball Recap: Currituck County Comes Up Short

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Currituck County was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They lost 9-1 to the Deep Creek Hornets. The contest marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Currituck County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amelia Cervantes, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

Currituck County has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Currituck County will challenge Northeastern at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Deep Creek, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Menchville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
