Softball Recap: El Monte Lions vs. Gabrielino Eagles
The third road matchup was the charm for El Monte, as they earned their first away win of the season. Everything went their way against the Gabrielino Eagles on Friday as they made off with a 14-2 victory. The Lions not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 21st.

Eve Reyes and Victoria Valdez were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Reyes tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Valdez pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. At bat, Reyes went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and two RBI, while Valdez scored a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Valdez a new career-high.
In other batting news, El Monte let Naima Rodriguez and Leslie Marquez run wild. Rodriguez scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Marquez scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
