Football Recap: Dalhart Skates Past River Road with Ease

Dalhart waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They breezed past the River Road Wildcats to the tune of 48-14. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 435th, while the Wildcats are ranked 1096th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Hunter Trusler, who threw for 313 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per attempt, and also punched in one score on the ground. Those 313 passing yards gave him a new career-high.

Dalhart didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cole James and Talon Garcia. Dalhart got some further help from Logan Ball: he picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles.

Dalhart's record is now 7-1. As for River Road, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
