Preview: Woods Cross Wildcats vs. Northridge Knights

Woods Cross is 8-2 against Northridge since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Woods Cross Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Northridge Knights at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Woods Cross has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They escaped with a win on Friday against Roy by the margin of a single free throw, 54-53. 54 seems to be a good number for Woods Cross as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Woods Cross' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ben Smith-mecham led the charge by scoring 16 points. It was the first time this season that Smith-mecham scored 15 or more points. Bryson Watson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, even though Viewmont scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, Northridge still came out on top. Northridge took down Viewmont 75-60.

Woods Cross has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-15 record this season. As for Northridge, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.

Woods Cross couldn't quite finish off Northridge when the teams last played back in January and fell 65-62. Can Woods Cross avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
