Baseball Recap: Pascack Hills Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cliffside Park last Friday, Pascack Hills came back down to earth. The Broncos fell just short of the Ramsey Rams by a score of 5-3 on Monday. The Broncos' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Pascack Hills got a good showing from Joe Napolitano, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Napolitano has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Anthony Blackford was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. John Giannantonio also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Pascack Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Ramsey, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

While Pascack Hills had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
