Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Zion Eagles vs. Greenville Patriots

The Mt. Zion Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Greenville Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Zion has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with 12 straight losses, while Greenville will come in with five straight wins.

On Tuesday, Mt. Zion came up short against Bowdon and fell 60-50.

Meanwhile, Greenville humbled Manchester with a 68-41 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

Greenville pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.4 points. As for Mt. Zion, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-16.

Mt. Zion took a serious blow against Greenville when the teams last played back in February of 2021, falling 84-56. Can Mt. Zion avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
