Softball Recap: Timber Creek Find Success

Timber Creek won the last time they faced Winter Park and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Wolves walked away with a 9-5 win over the Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

Gabbi Scott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Timber Creek let Lauren Scott and Naomi Pette run wild. Scott went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Pette scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those four RBI gave Scott a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rowyn Joyce, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Timber Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Timber Creek's record is now 6-7. As for Winter Park, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Timber Creek and Winter Park will both be playing Lake Nona the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wolves will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
