Recap: Warren Central Warriors vs. Jeffersonville Red Devils

The Warren Central Warriors's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 56-49 victory over Jeffersonville. This was payback for Warren Central, who suffered a 65-40 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Warren Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Denyha Jacobs, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. The contest was Jacobs' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Denell Jacobs was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.

Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makenzie Mason, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Lakyra Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Warren Central has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Jeffersonville, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren Central will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Linton-Stockton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Linton-Stockton will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Jeffersonville will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Ben Davis at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Ben Davis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
