Football Recap: Depaul College Prep Skates Past Saint Viator with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Loyola Academy, DePaul College Prep was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They breezed past the Saint Viator Lions to the tune of 38-7. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Lions are ranked 297th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

DePaul College Prep found their leader in sophomore Tyson Hooks, who rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards and one TD. Hooks' longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Matthew Osterman also helped out with an impressive 104 receiving yards.

DePaul College Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Leading the way was George Farrell and his one interception.

DePaul College Prep's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Saint Viator, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. DePaul College Prep will head out to challenge Carmel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Saint Viator, they will venture away from home to face off against Montini Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
