Soccer Recap: Sonoraville Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Sonoraville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over the Union County Panthers. The Phoenix might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six goals or more this season.

They hit Union County with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Emma Mullins (4), Jaren Sanchez (2), and Analily Rivera.

Sonoraville pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those four games. As for Union County, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Sonoraville will take on Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Union County, they will head out on the road to face off against North Murray at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union County has given up an average of 5.6 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
