Softball Recap: Batesburg-Leesville Comes Up Short

Batesburg-Leesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Ninety Six Wildcats, falling 19-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in March.

Batesburg-Leesville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chandler Bouknight, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Batesburg-Leesville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9-1. As for Ninety Six, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Batesburg-Leesville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-10 win against American Leadership Academy on the 9th. As for Ninety Six, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Saluda at 7:00 p.m. The Wildcats are on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Tigers a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
