Soccer Game Preview: Cherokee Trail vs. Smoky Hill + How To Watch

The Cherokee Trail Cougars will head out to challenge the Smoky Hill Buffaloes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cherokee Trail is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

Cherokee Trail will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Grandview, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cougars came out on top against Wolves by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Cherokee Trail's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Grandview are ranked 70th).

Caleb Bruce and Mason Robledo scored both of Cherokee Trail's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Smoky Hill was forced to settle for a draw. They and Eaglecrest finished up their match with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

Smoky Hill's draw gives them a new season record of 8-2-1. As for Cherokee Trail, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2-2.

Cherokee Trail beat Smoky Hill by a goal in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
