Baseball Recap: Wiregrass Takes a Loss

Wiregrass lost against Evangel Christian back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wiregrass Kings fell 6-1 to the Evangel Christian Lightning. The Kings' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Wiregrass saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Simmons, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. The dominant performance gave Simmons a new career-high in hits.

Wiregrass' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Evangel Christian, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

While Wiregrass had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
