Basketball Recap: Bishop Wenze Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Oviedo

There's no place like home for Olympia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They took down the Oviedo Lions 69-53 on Tuesday.

Olympia got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bishop Wenze out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. Those 20 points gave Wenze a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of James Nowells, who went 5 for 12 en route to 17 points.

Olympia smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Cameron Bryant and Terell James certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Bryant dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds, while James went 8 of 18 on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and five assists. The contest was Bryant's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dominic Tejada, who posted four points.

Olympia's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Oviedo, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-11.

Olympia is taking a road trip to challenge Jones at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Olympia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.3 points per game this season. Oviedo has already played their next game (against Seminole), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
