Softball Recap: Water Valley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Rosa Fort last Wednesday, Water Valley came back down to earth. Water Valley lost 21-8 to the Independence Wildcats on Friday. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Mariya Morgan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Water Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Independence, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Water Valley will venture away from home to square off against Palmer at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Independence, they will square off against Hickory Flat at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
