Basketball Recap: Hapeville Charter Falls Short of Washington in the Playoffs

Hapeville Charter and Washington squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Hapeville Charter had to settle for second. They took a 75-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Washington Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (57), the Hornets still had to take the loss.

Hapeville Charter's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lyndale Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds, and Christopher Person, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 19 boards. With that strong performance, Person is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Quan Morris, who posted five points.

Even though they lost, Hapeville Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. This was only their 12th loss (out of 17 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Hapeville Charter has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Washington, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-20.
