The biggest upset of the week belonged to Sherman Oaks CES, who took down 996th ranked Frederick Douglass Academy, 26-20.
Charles Rachel and Jaloni Miller provided fans with a highlight when they connected against the Knights. The longest such play in Metro this season, the connection resulted in 94 yards.
The Lions' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Rachel threw for 327 and two touchdowns and Miller had 275 yards receiving. On the ground Deazsha Starks chipped in 55 yards. Lloyd Green helped Frederick Douglass Academy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 37 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Deandre Dunn and Kendall Tillman View Park has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Dunn leads the league in passing with 718 yards, while Tillman has rushed for 715 yards this season. Frederick Douglass Academy's Miller leads the league in receiving yards with 405 on 10 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Animo South Los Angeles takes on the Knights. At the moment, the Panthers are in third, while View Park is in first.
Sun Valley made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,896 from 14,219. The improvement was the result of 22-20 victory over Animo South Los Angeles last week.
