Basketball Recap: Johnson Bayou Takes a Loss

After flying high against South Cameron last Tuesday, Johnson Bayou came back down to earth. The Johnson Bayou Rebels were dealt an 84-38 defeat at the hands of the Singer Hornets on Thursday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-36 back in December of 2024.

Johnson Bayou has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Singer, their victory bumped their record up to 18-11-1.

Johnson Bayou will take on Starks at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Starks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Johnson Bayou surely won't give up without a fight. As for Singer, they will be playing at home against Merryville on January 24th.
