Baseball Game Preview: Dobbs Ferry Eagles vs. Rye Neck Panthers

For the second straight game, Dobbs Ferry will face off against Rye Neck. The Eagles will welcome the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Dobbs Ferry is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Dobbs Ferry came up short against Rye Neck and fell 6-2.

For Rye Neck's part, Jake Mandell tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Mandell also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Panthers are 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ben Gellman, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Chris Cervantes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
