Volleyball Game Preview: John Yowell Academy Panthers vs. Phoenix Academy Firebirds

The John Yowell Academy Panthers will head out to face off against the Phoenix Academy Firebirds at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, John Yowell Academy turned things around against Triad Math and Science Academy on Friday. They blew past the Bengals 3-0.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Phoenix Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on Triad Math and Science Academy with a sharp 3-0 victory last Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Firebirds as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Phoenix Academy walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-17.

John Yowell Academy picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-7. As for Phoenix Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

John Yowell Academy came up short against Phoenix Academy when the teams last played back in March, falling 3-1. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
