Basketball Recap: Kimora Carmichael's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cane Bay over Socastee

Cane Bay managed to keep up with Socastee until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Cane Bay Cobras lost 45-25 to the Socastee Braves. The Cobras just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Cane Bay lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kimora Carmichael, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Carmichael a new career-high in rebounds.

Even though they lost, Cane Bay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Socastee can attribute much of their success to Bri Smith, who posted 20 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Rylee Minehart, who had 12 points.

Cane Bay's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Socastee, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Cane Bay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 26-23 defeat against Woodland on the 16th. As for Socastee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 29-26 win against Cane Bay on the 17th.
