With a playoff win on the line, St. Patrick rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Franklin County Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Irish, who have now won 12 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

St. Patrick is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Franklin County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: St. Patrick beat Franklin County by a score of 13-2 on Saturday.
