Basketball Game Preview: Northside - Pinetown Panthers vs. Jones Trojans

The Northside - Pinetown Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Jones Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Northside - Pinetown's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.

Northside - Pinetown will bounce into Friday's game after beating Southside, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Northside - Pinetown came out on top against Southside by a score of 73-63 on Tuesday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northside - Pinetown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malachi Moore, who went 7 of 12 en route to 15 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Nick Moore, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 16 points.

Northside - Pinetown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 22 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Jones scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 56-43 to Jacksonville Christian Academy. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northside - Pinetown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.6 points per game. As for Jones, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Northside - Pinetown didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Jones in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 64-60 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northside - Pinetown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
