Basketball Recap: Loudoun County Takes a Loss

Loudoun County lost against Loudoun Valley back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Loudoun County Captains fell just short of the Loudoun Valley Vikings by a score of 53-50. While losing is never fun, the Captains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Vikings are ranked 48th).

Loudoun County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Loudoun Valley, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Loudoun County will take on St. Anne's-Belfield in a tournament on December 28th. St. Anne's-Belfield will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Loudoun County surely won't give up without a fight. Loudoun Valley and Luray will round out the year against one another at at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th.
