Baseball Game Preview: State College Little Lions vs. Central Dauphin Rams

The State College Little Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Central Dauphin Rams at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. State College's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

State College might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-2 to Cumberland Valley, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Central Dauphin came out on top against Cumberland Valley on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Rams walked away with a 7-3 win over the Eagles. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Central Dauphin got a great performance from Declan Musselman as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Musselman a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jace Collins, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Tommy Powell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

State College's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Central Dauphin, their record is now 6-8.

State College might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Central Dauphin when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Little Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
