Softball Game Preview: Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits vs. Monache Marauders

The Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits will head out to challenge the Monache Marauders at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Long Beach Poly will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Long Beach Poly is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Warren by a score of 6-2.

Tegan Breaux spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ki'Ele Ho-Ching, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Kween Tauala, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Monache's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Bakersfield Christian by a score of 2-1.

Monache also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Sophia Martinez gave up just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Monache saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danika Sanchez, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Monache's loss dropped their record down to 17-6-1. As for Long Beach Poly, their win bumped their record up to 20-6.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Long Beach Poly has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Monache struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
