Elmore County took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 31-30 win over the Dadeville Tigers. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Gage Davis was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns. Those 205 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Elmore County also got a significant boost from Eli Thames, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elmore County will venture away from home to face off against Tallassee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dadeville, they will head out to square off against Handley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
