Basketball Recap: University Prep Panthers vs. Lassen Grizzlies
The University Prep Panthers entered their tilt with the Lassen Grizzlies with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. University Prep walked away with a 59-50 win over the Grizzlies on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as University Prep also won the last time the pair played two weeks ago.
Scott Steffan was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Hokanson, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
University Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Lassen, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-11.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Central Valley the next time they take the court. University Prep will head out to face the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Grizzlies will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
