Basketball Recap: Colin Dodd Key Part of Team Effort in Golden Bears Win

With a playoff win on the line, Sierra Pacific rose to the challenge on Saturday. They took down the McFarland Cougars 81-63. The Golden Bears haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Sierra Pacific's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Colin Dodd led the charge by dropping a double-double with 22 points and 18 rebounds. Dodd is becoming a predictor of Sierra Pacific's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 9-4 (and 6-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Kazden Berna, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Sierra Pacific was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Sierra Pacific now has a winning record of 15-14. As for McFarland, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 23-6.
